Climb and explore a variety of vehicles at Touch a Truck in Berens Park. Free admission. Visit 9 am-Noon. The first hour will be a quiet hour designed for kids who love trucks, but not the noise. Come and meet with Jim Rogers, Executive Director of the Elmhurst Park District, to learn more about the park district referendum that will be included on the November ballot. This will be a purely informational meeting so that members can make an informed decision this fall when voting for proposed changes in our community. We will gather in the Community Room at Vyne on Haven for wine and socializing before Jim begins a brief presentation and Q&A at 8:00PM. We will have some light bites but please BYOB! Join us at 7pm on Thursday, September 5th at Brewpoint Coffee at 617 N York Road, Elmhurst for a flower arranging workshop! Participants will select a vase, choose from a variety of fresh cut locally grown flowers, and create their own unique arrangment to bring home. We will discuss the basic mechanics needed to create a successful arrangement, best flower combinations, and how to care for your arrangement at home. Tickets are $49 per person. Stop by the Elmhurst Park District tent near Safety Town to have a photo taken of your pet. Experience a Halloween tradition like no other! Join our community in the enchanting witches ride, where kiddos line the streets, eagerly awaiting the sight of witches soaring by, casting candy spells for all to catch and enjoy Elmhurst Witches, 21 and older, are invited to join the 3rd annual Elmhurst Witches Ride on Saturday, October 5th. We’ll meet in the parking lot of Berkshire Hathaway Prairie Path Realtors on Spring Rd at 3:30PM. The ride begins promptly at 4PM where the witches will ride through south/central Elmhurst while we toss candy to kids in the neighborhood along the route. Candy will be provided by Tom Muisenga with Berkshire Hathaway Prairie Path Realtors. We will end our route with some witches brew at Doc’s on Spring Rd. Plan to bike for about 45 minutes. Get as creative and festive as you’d like. Dressing up and/or decorating your broom (bike) isn't necessary but highly encouraged! Please share this and invite any other Elmhurst moms or ladies - the more the merrier. In addition to it being a fun night of meeting new friends, this a charitable event to help those in need in our community. More info coming soon… We hope to see you there! |
