Join us for a hands-on volunteer opportunity at SCARCE! SCARCE is a local non-profit focused on sustainability. For this event, help sort and pack bottle caps, crayons, and other materials that will be diverted from landfills and repurposed into park benches, playground equipment, and other community resources. This event will be geared towards preschool/early elementary, but open for all! The facility can accommodate up to 20 kids to volunteer so please RSVP the number of children in your group and we will start a waitlist if needed.

Our resident yoga instructor, Missy Slavik, will be leading a vinyasa yoga class on the back patio of the new Zodiac Cafe in downtown Elmhurst. We’re kicking off our fall reading with The Mothers by Brit Bennett!  Join us at Emily’s house for an evening of connection, snacks, and book discussion as we dive into this thoughtful and beautifully written story.  The Mothers follows Nadia Turner, a rebellious teenager in a tight-knit Southern California church community, and explores friendship, love, secrets, and the choices that shape our lives. Told through the voices of the people who surround Nadia, the novel examines motherhood, faith, grief, and the lasting impact of the decisions we make when we’re young.  All are welcome, even if you haven't started or finished the book.
